Cavitex C5 Link Expressway to begin toll collection Oct 24

Motorists using the Cavitex-C5 Link Expressway will soon have to pay toll fees after the Toll Regulatory Board approved the collection of a provisional initial toll.

The new toll rates will take effect starting October 24 with the following fees:

Class 1 – P22

Class 2 – P44

Class 3 – P66

“TRB’s approval to collect toll is a welcome development. This will help us in the operations and maintenance of the 2.2 kilometers now being used by motorists. CIC shall continue to work on the next 5.5 kilometers of the Cavitex-C5 Link starting this November. A better and more efficient road network awaits motorists and residents of neighboring cities when the full 7.7-kilometer C5 Link Expressway is completed,” said CIC president Bobby Bontia.

The first 2.2 kilometers of Cavitex-C5 Link Expressway opened last July 22. In a release, the expressway is said to have served its target daily vehicle volume of 8,000 and helped decongest major chokepoints during rush hour in Sales interchange near Villamor Airbase, SLEX, East and West Service Roads, and EDSA.

The entire alignment is expected to serve 50,000 vehicles daily once it is completed as this will provide motorists a more convenient way to travel along the south corridor of Metro Manila, from Cavitex Paranaque Toll Plaza, Las Piñas, Pasay up to C5 in Taguig City within 10 minutes.
