MMDA reveals rerouting for NLEX Harbor Link build

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and NLEX Corporation will implement a traffic rerouting plan to give way for the construction of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 C3-R10 Section.

In order to construct an elevated road crossing over Navotas River along C3, one lane of C3 Bridge will be temporarily closed to traffic beginning 11 p.m. on Saturday, July 20, until the completion of the construction in November 2019.

Light vehicles going to and from C3 Road and Radial Road 10 will be rerouted to Dagat-Dagatan Avenue and Lapu-Lapu Avenue while heavy vehicles may still utilize the two-way traffic route at the remaining lane of C3 Bridge.

“We are advising motorists to plan their trips ahead and, at the same time, seek their understanding as the partial closure of C3 Bridge is necessary to complete this project on time,” MMDA general manager Jojo Garcia said.

Traffic signs will be placed at portions of the area while traffic marshalls will be deployed to ensure smooth traffic flow.

“Construction of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 C3-R10 Section is making significant progress. When completed, it will provide direct access between R10 and NLEX and thus contribute to ease of travel and traffic decongestion in Metro Manila,” NLEX Corporation president and general manager Luigi Bautista said.

The NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 C3-R10 section is a 2.6-kilometer elevated expressway from C3 Road in Caloocan City to Radial Road 10 in Navotas City.

It will link the 5.65-kilometer NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 that crosses through Karuhatan, Valenzuela City, Governor Pascual Avenue in Malabon City, and the new Caloocan Interchange on 5th Avenue/C3 Road in Caloocan City.

The C3-R10 section of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment is targeted to be completed by December 2019.
