MMDA to close portions of EDSA, C-5 for repairs

Some lanes along EDSA and C-5 will be closed to motorists over the weekend to give way to road repairs of the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH).

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority will conduct reblocking activities beginning 11 p.m. on Friday, May 24.

In an advisory, the DPWH said that repair works along the southbound lane of EDSA include the intermittent section of Lagarian Creek to New York Street and the 4th lane and intermittent section before Monde de Piedad up until the section before EDSA Aurora Boulevard.

On the northbound lane, road repair activities will also be conducted on the first and second lanes in front of Baliwag Transit to New York Street; the outer lane after Magallanes MRT to KM 29 near Ayala Tunnel, and the other lane from KM 27+019 to KM 26+921.

Meanwhile, maintenance works along the northbound lane of C-5 will be implemented in front of Market Market.

Motorists are advised to take alternate routes due to possible traffic slowdowns along the affected areas. Roads that will undergo repair works are expected to be reopened by 5 a.m. on Monday, May 27.
