Police links ‘GTA’ suspect to 2 missing Grab drivers

A task group has been formed by the Manila Police District to investigate the case of two missing Grab drivers which appear to be linked to the traffic violator who rammed several vehicles on Monday.

According to a report by The STAR, the relatives of Laurence Fajardo and Manuel Alamudin sought the help of the police after they disappeared four days apart in April.

Based on two IDs that were found in the abandoned vehicle, the suspect who fled after being cornered by angry rock-wielding men was identified as Frankie Serrano or Carlo Mark Santos.

Serrano attempted to escape using a Toyota Vios (UKE-549) after presenting a fake driver’s license to the traffic enforcers who flagged him down. The suspect plowed through several vehicles and injured two people along Recto Avenue.

Several men threw bottles and rocks at the vehicle as it tried to sped away from an alley. Serrano later abandoned the vehicle near Mabini Bridge along with a female passenger.

Police investigation showed that the car was registered to Laarni Roque, sister of Fajardo who had disappeared since April 22.

Meanwhile, Alamudin and the Toyota Innova he used to drive for Grab were reported missing in April 22. Probers said that the same person booked Fajardo and Alamudin on the days they went missing. – With Marc Jayson Cayabyab/STAR
