Autohub Group recently announced the entry of Shelby cars to the Philippine market with the introduction of the newest iteration of the Shelby Super Snake. Based on the Ford Mustang GT, the Shelby Super Snake boasts of aesthetic and performance enhancements on the iconic Ford Mustang GT for a faster and more thrilling drive.
The Super Snake is Shelby’s top-of-the-line high-performance Mustang-based ultimate muscle car. Under the hood, the Super Snake boosts Ford’s legendary 5.0-liter V8 with forced induction via an Edelbrock supercharger for supercar-like 825 horsepower—almost double the power of a stock Mustang and more powerful than several Italian and German exotics.
Making sure to handle the additional heat generated by the engine is an external cooling upgrade specifically designed by Shelby American Inc, which consists of a new radiator, aluminum tank, and heat exchanger. Performance half shafts, transmission, and a Ford Performance exhaust complete the drivetrain upgrades. Handling is sharpened as well with additional stability brought by a Ford Performance Track Pack suspension set.
Outside, the Shelby Mustang is fitted with a new front bumper, hood, grilles, rocker panels, front splitter, rear spoiler, rear tail panel, rear diffuser and more. Wheels and tires consist of Shelby 20-inch forged aluminum wheels wrapped with Shelby performance spec tires. To bring the Super Snake to a standstill in a short distance, the braking system has been overhauled with Shelby by Brembo brakes, which consists of red six-piston calipers up front and four-piston calipers at the rear.
The cabin of the Super Snake Mustang is upgraded with new floor mats and door sill plates, gauge cluster with gauges, custom Shelby badging on the engine cover and dashboard.
The result is a well-engineered car with stunning capabilities. On pump gasoline and street legal tires, the Shelby Super Snake can go from 0 to 100kph in just 3.5 seconds. To achieve this feat, almost all Shelby-exclusive components were developed and tested with original equipment manufacturers.
