Bajaj RE three-wheeler gets a major revamp for 2021

Have you seen those three-wheeled, tuk-tuk-looking motorcycles used as public transportation in Tagaytay, Surigao, and some parts of Pasay City? Those are called the Bajaj RE, distributed by Trimotors Technology Corporation, the official distributor of Bajaj three-wheelers in the Philippines.

For 2021, Trimotors introduces a major revamp to the RE three-wheeler, including a bevy of updates that businesses and the consuming public would enjoy.

First off, the updates start with the dashboard that gets a sleek design, integrated with an MP3 player for entertainment while on a commute, both for the driver and the two rear passengers.

Speaking of passengers, new ergonomic and newly-designed seats are added to the RE. A metal door for the rear cabin is also available, along with an updated symmetrical transparent hood that gives passengers a better view and visibility from behind.

More importantly, the Bajaj RE’s 198.88 CC DTS-I FI engine gets a silencer assembly mounted on the engine crankcase with an enhanced timing chain. Trimotor said that this added feature enables minimized noise and vibration, resulting in smoother engine performance.

Priced at Php 182,888.00 SRP, the all-new Bajaj RE is still available in colors Yellow, Blue, Red, White, and Green.

The first Bajaj RE for PWDs

Along with the all-new Bajaj RE comes the very first of its kind to get a custom fabrication specifically made for PWDs.

Coming from a successful stint in custom car and motorcycle building in Japan, Yokohama Hot Rod Custom Show by Mooneyes, Jeffrey “Pong” Ylagan of Ylagan Kustom is the brain behind the Bajaj RE for PWDs.

The newly-realized idea is still at the prototype stage at this point, which came from Pong’s vast knowledge in motorcycle fabrication. Japan’s prioritization of PWDs gave him the idea to turn his passion into a cause that would greatly help a community close to his heart.

Among the modifications done to the RE include the door that doubles as a ramp, a rotating floor with grip tapes to keep the wheelchair in place while driving, easy-access controls placed on the dashboard area, and prominent PWD signages located at the sides and rear of the vehicle.

Pong and his Ylagan Kustom are on the map when it comes to custom bike building, but this Bajaj RE for PWDs makes him more than what he’s known for.
