Cavitex finishes P78-M road maintenance project

Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) announced on Monday the completion of its heavy maintenance project along the Manila-Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX).

In a press release, the CIC said that the P78 million road maintenance project entailed rehabilitation and repair of road surface distresses such as pavement fractures, distortions, and disintegration along the expressway’s entry and exit points in Longos, Bacoor. Aside from that, the maintenance project also included a 1-km portion of the mainline carriageway of Wawa Bridge to Zapote Interchange (Cavite and Manila-bound).

“With the recently completed heavy maintenance project in CAVITEX, we now have safer carriageways and smoother roads that help improve the overall driving experience of our motorists,” CIC president and general manager Roberto V. Bontia said.

“Despite challenges brought about by the pandemic, we continue to invest on projects that will ensure safety and convenience of our toll road users,” he added.

Last December, CIC and the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA) completed its road enhancements project for Segment 1 (R1 Expressway) which covers road widening for additional lanes in Parañaque, Wawa, and Las Pinas bridges from three lanes to four lanes.

“PRA and CIC are fully  committed in providing a safe and high-quality expressway for our motorists.  We ensure that they get what they pay for in terms of safety, ease and convenience in travelling through CAVITEX,” PRA general manager and CEO Atty. Janilo E. Rubiato said.

“Hence, we considered the high maintenance project a must to live up to that commitment, and with the results we now see and experience in the toll road, we consider it money well spent,” Rubiato added.

CAVITEX is part of a road network being developed by Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation that will soon connect to the 7.7-kilometer C5 Link Expressway and the 45-kilometer Cavite-Laguna Expressway.
