Cavitex implements new traffic scheme

A lane for class 1 vehicles on the southbound portion of the Parañaque Toll Plaza will be converted into a ‘Pass Through’ lane from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. during weekdays starting September 17.

The Cavitex Infrastructure Corporation (CIC) said that cash-paying motorists using the ‘Pass Through’ lane heading towards Kawit City will pay a total of P89 at the Kawit Toll Plaza.

“Ever since Metro Manila and nearby areas were opened for economic activity, there has been a surge in the number of vehicles plying the CAVITEX, this scheme is intended to ease the evening traffic, before the Paranque toll Plaza,” CIC president Roberto Bontia said.

“In addition to this scheme, we have also opened the Pacific Drive entry to Cavitex. This serves as an alternate route wherein vehicles from Roxas Boulevard may enter the D. Macapagal Boulevard onto Pacific Drive  to enter the CAVITEX,” Bontia added.

Meanwhile, CIC and its joint venture partner, the Philippine Reclamation Authority (PRA), strongly urge motorists to avail of the Easytrip RFID before the full implementation of the contactless transactions on November 2. Under the Department of Transportation’s Order No. 2020-012, motorists using tollways will be required to use cashless transactions in order to curb the spread of COVID-19 as as well as ease the passage of vehicles.

Aside from the CAVITEX, the Easytrip RFID is also used on the CAVITEX C5 Link and other tollroads operated by the Metro Pacific Tollways Group, such as the Cavite-Laguna Expressway, the North Luzon Expressway and the Subic-Clark-Tarlac Expressway.

It can be purchased and reloaded directly at 24/7 Customer Service Centers along the CAVITEX. Reloading can also be done online via PayMaya, BDO, ECPay and other partner-merchants of Easytrip. The initial and succeeding loads are non-expiring and consumable.
