After doing their part in helping during the pandemic and promoting safe local tourism, Nissan is back to showcasing their cars just before the year ends. This time they’re bringing their cars like the Patrol, Navara, Terra, and the 370Z up on the digital stage at MIAS Wired.
The Navara remains to be Nissan’s top-seller, with 19,034 units sold in total last year. It’s not surprising given it has one of the best rides in its segment thanks to its multi-link suspension at the rear; coupled with modern amenities like Apple and Android smartphone mirroring, Around View Monitor, and Shift-on-the-fly 4WD.
A rookie that exceeded expectations, the Terra is just behind the Navara in terms of total sales last year. Banking on the seven-seater trend in midsize SUVs, the Terra went beyond and included Around View Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, and Intelligent Rear View Monitor in its package to help their owners tackle any road they pursue. Combine that with passenger amenities like rear flip-down monitor, ambient lighting, zero-gravity front seats, adequate space up to the third row, even a noise-reducing acoustic glass, and Nissan really made sure everyone will be comfortable inside their SUV.
If the Terra comes up a bit short for you, then the Patrol might be up your alley. It doesn’t compromise in both off-roading capability, comfort, and luxury appointments inside. The V8 under its hood puts out 400hp and 560Nm of torque to make sure there’s no elevation you can’t climb. Suspension is taken care of by Hydraulic Body Motion Control that helps keep the Patrol flat during its run, minimizing the transfer of bumps on the road to its passengers. Luxury appointments include leather upholstery, eight-seater cabin, triple-zone climate control, 13-speaker Bose audio system, and headrest mounted monitors, just to name a few.
Off-roading is not for everybody though. Some people just want to go fast and hug corners really well. If that’s your cup of tea, you should check out the 370Z. It may be one of the oldest sports cars in the market, but it doesn’t matter when talking about a Nissan with a Z badge on it. They’re not made to be the most versatile cars. Instead, the Z is all about being zippy in all sections of the track.
Putting a V6 with 332 horses and 363 of twist in such a compact body already assures you of an amazing drive. Nissan didn’t stop there though. Auto rev-matching, near-perfect 55/45 front/rear balance for corners, H-pipe free-flow exhaust, tuned suspension, and RAYS forged alloy wheels all make for a wild ride on the track with the 370Z.
