A total of 320 e-riders, 24,215.68 kms traveled, and 900 personal protective equipment (PPEs) to be donated for the hardworking front-liners — all from crossover specialist, Chery Auto PH, through its Labor Day Ride-On social media promo held last May 1.
For the online ride-on, Chery offered 5 pesos worth of PPEs for every kilometer traveled by Labor Day Ride-On participants. Averaging 300 pesos for each PPE, 600 coverall PPEs will be donated amounting to P180,000.
On top of that, another 300 sets of lab gown PPEs will be donated to Northern Mindanao Medical Center, Ospital ng Malabon, Tondo Medical Hospital, and Valenzuela Hospital. To help support local workers, the first 300 lab gown PPEs were produced by beneficiaries of sewing machines through Chery Auto PH/United Asia Auto Group Inc. (UAAGI) employees’ CARE Cooperative.
The single longest ride accumulated 412.2 kms in 17.5 hours of riding! Participants had to post their proofs of mileage on Facebook or on various cycling apps like Garmin, Zwift, Strava, Bkool with the hashtag #CheryAutoPHRideOn2020 on that day before noon of May 2. Posts must include the date of the ride. Rides must strictly be indoors only and done only on May 1.
Recipients for three special awards—Ken Sarabia for Longest Male Distance Spinner, Jermyn Prado for Longest Female Distance Spinner, and Rene Alumbro for First To Reach 100 Kms Spinner—were given products from Labor Day Ride On sponsor, My Daily Collagen. In addition, My Daily Collagen products were raffled off to 10 lucky participants with a minimum distance of 50 kms. The Labor Day Ride On was held in cooperation with My Daily Collagen.
