The bus terminal for provincial buses in Cubao, Quezon City will be excluded from Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA)’s crackdown on provincial bus terminals operating along EDSA.
In a report by The STAR, MMDA’s EDSA traffic discipline zone head Edison Nebrija said in a DZBB interview that the common terminal in Cubao will be retained despite the plan to shut down all provincial terminals along EDSA.
Nebrija said that commuters — especially those with large baggage coming from Bicol, Visayas, and Mindanao — would still be able to utilize the provincial bus terminal in Cubao.
Meanwhile, Nebrija also said that the MMDA also plans to propose to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board that the franchise of some provincial buses be replaced and converted into point-to-point buses.
He said that MMDA’s top priority is to shut down all provincial bus terminals along EDSA by next month
