Just like boxing’s basic yet effective one-two punch combo, the Challenger and the Charger stand as Dodge’s staple offering since 2008. They’re the epitome of good ol’ pure American muscle — in two-door and four-door flavors.
And Filipinos can get a taste of both in this year’s MIAS Wired, brought to you by Auto Nation Group, the official distributor of Dodge, RAM, Jeep, and Chrysler in the Philippines.
From drag strips to EDSA, Dodge Philippines introduced the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye earlier this year. Now, if you’re not familiar with how Dodge names things, the SRT Hellcat Redeye suffix means a lot of things, but most importantly, it means overflowing power — 808hp and 959Nm of torque, to be exact, coming from its 6.2L supercharged Hemi V8 SRT Hellcat engine.
But it isn’t all about the numbers. Unlike the more-powerful and limited Challenger SRT Demon, the Hellcat Redeye is the most agile version of the two-door muscle car. While the Demon was meant to rule drag strips with its brutal straight-line acceleration, the Redeye can do well in racetracks, mainly because of its versatile track-tuned suspension system and a larger set of Brembo brakes.
Despite being a sports car, the Challenger SRT Hellcat Redeye offers seating for four individuals and offers more-than-decent amenities for a relatively comfortable cruise.
For a more “sedate” offering, the Challenger is also available in the Scat Pack variant, powered by a naturally-aspirated 6.4L Hemi that makes 485hp and 644Nm of twists and comes with adaptive damping, SRT-tuned suspension, and road-legal drag radial tires.
If you want better access to rear seats, Dodge Philippines offers the Charger muscle sedan. It’s available in both Hellcat and Scat Pack variants as well, with the former’s supercharged Hemi sending 707 horses to the rear wheels.
All Charger variants come with leather seating for five, multi-link rear suspension, dual-zone climate control, and improved NVH isolation to ensure the comfort of its occupants.
The Dodge Challenger and Charger are available in a multitude of paint color options that fit your personality. They also come with Dodge’s proprietary Uconnect infotainment system with wireless smartphone connectivity for onboard entertainment.
