DOTr receives modern Ford ambulance from Lopez Group

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) recently received a modern Stage 3 ambulance, one of the most modern medical service vehicles in the country today. The ambulance unit is part of a P100-million funding support from the Lopez Group of Companies.

Built on the latest model of the Ford Transit utility van, the Stage 3 ambulance comes equipped with a medical wall wide cabinet, collapsible and scoop stretchers, and automated external defibrillator (AED). It also features a divider with sliding window, two-seater and three-seater with backrest foldable and seatbelt, and a stainless ramp.

Inside the ambulance, there are also medical consumables for patients, as well as essential medical devices for emergency treatment like a first aid kit, minor surgical kit, and nebulizer kit.

Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) general manager Jay Santiago presented the donated ambulance to DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade, accompanied by DOTr Procurement and Project Implementation assistant secretary Giovanni Lopez.

The ambulance will be deployed at the government’s coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) quarantine facilities – two quarantine vessels and a quarantine terminal – in Pier 15 of the Manila South Harbor. These quarantine facilities were established by the DOTr and its attached agencies as part of the government’s response efforts to contain the spread of the disease.
