Honda Cars Philippines ended speculations about the future of their iconic hatchback and announced that it’s officially discontinuing the Jazz and all its variants.
The Honda Jazz was first introduced in the country in 2004 and has enjoyed three generations since then, with the last iteration receiving the RS badge and more sporty touches. Known for its spaciousness, versatility, style, and performance, the Jazz was able to sell 25,000 units during its stay in the country.
“The Jazz has been a remarkable nameplate in the Philippine market for around [17] years. However, as we continue to put an emphasis on meeting market demands, we have thoroughly studied the necessity of the models in our current model lineup. After careful consideration, we would like to formally announce the discontinuation of Jazz and all its variants, in order for us to shift our focus and resources to our current and upcoming models.” said Mr. Masahiko Nakamura, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) president.
A fourth-generation Honda Fit (the global name for the Jazz) was launched back in 2019. However, it won’t be sold in our region. A hatchback version of the Honda City was unveiled in Thailand last year but it remains to be seen if it will be the Jazz replacement for our market.
