Hancars perks up MPV market with new Grand Starex ELITE and VIP

When the Starex was first introduced back in 1997, the multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) fulfilled the role of an everyday workhorse, carrying both people and goods comfortably and conveniently. The Starex was among the first to offer great performance and superior comfort, making it an instant hit for the Filipino family. Dads use it as a personal car for business, Moms take the kids to school with it, and the whole gang of friends have made it their barkada ride in quick out-of-town trips over the weekend.

A RIGHT-SIZED MPV

As the needs of the Filipino family grew, so did the Starex. To better adapt to the ever-changing lifestyle of users, the Starex had evolved into the Grand Starex with a platform designed and engineered at the Hyundai’s Rüsselsheim Design Center in Germany. This new platform offered better comfort, more stability, and a more robust suspension than its predecessor, transforming a good family vehicle into a superior MPV.

The CRDI engine in the Starex had since evolved from a 145hp to the more powerful 175hp Euro-6 engine (with a tremendous torque of 46kg-m) in the Grand Starex. It leads every other MPV in terms of technological innovations, and even in today’s market, the Grand Starex still remains a leader in engine technology, having one of the quietest, smoothest, cleanest, most powerful, and most fuel-efficient diesel engines in the Philippines.

Michael Manzana shows the features of the new Grand Starex Elite

“People just won’t believe that the Grand Starex has a more comfortable ride than its German or Japanese rivals, that its Euro 6 engine is more powerful, smoother, and quieter than all its rivals,  until they take it for a drive, and then they are amazed,” shares Hancars, Inc. sales manager Michael Manzana.
