Thousands of commuters along SLEX are now spending more than three hours just to get to work after the outermost lane of the expressway’s northbound lane after Alabang viaduct has been closed to motorists to give way to the construction of the Skyway Extension project.
The closure immediately triggered an avalanche of social media-expressed bile and criticism from commuters and motorists. But in spite of the chaos that is SLEX, some netizens found humor and opted to poke fun at the situation.
SMC Tollways president Manny Bonoan said that the traffic gridlock being experienced along SLEX could ease by mid-November as soon as the firm completes the construction of posts and structures for the Skyway Extension project.
