MMDA implements weekend road closures

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will be closing Sevilla Bridge in Mandaluyong City over the weekend to allow the contractor of the Skyway Stage 3 road project to transfer its equipment.

In an advisory, MMDA said the bridge will be closed to motorists beginning Feb. 8 at 10 p.m. to Feb. 9 at 5 a.m. During the closure, the MMDA said that the contractor will move the barges and cranes down to the San Juan River.

Meanwhile, several roads will also be closed to traffic starting at 11:00 p.m. tonight up until Feb. 10 to give way to road repairs by the Department of Public Works and Highways.

Closed to motorists are the southbound lane of A. Bonifacio Ave. to 11 Ave. (1st lane), Bulakan St. to West Ave. (3rd lane), and BP Tuazon flyover to A. Boni Serrano (2nd lane).

Additionally, the westbound lane of General Luis St. to SB Road, the Elliptical Road from Kalayaan Ave. to Maharlika St. (6th lane) as well as the northbound lane of Aurora Blvd. to New York St. (3rd lane) will not be accessible to motorists over the weekend.

Meanwhile, Pasig Boulevard near the Total gasoline station (2nd lane) will also be closed by 10 p.m. tonight until 4 a.m. on Monday to give way to the construction of Manila Water’s main sewer network.

MMDA advised motorists to avoid the affected areas and use alternate routes.
