Metro Pacific Investments Corp. unit MPCALA Holdings Inc. announced that vehicles with dirty or dilapidated license plates will be flagged down along the stretch of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX).
In a statement, the company said that inconspicuous or unnoticeable plates and those with improvised plates without a permit from the LTO as well as old vehicles with no license plates will also be flagged down in relation to the strict enforcement of Section 18 of Republic Act 4136 or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code.
With this, MPCALA Holdings Inc is encouraging motorists traversing the expressway to regularly check their vehicle license plates in order to maximize the efficiency of its Automatic License Plate Recognition System (ALPR).
The ALPR system is an innovation in the country’s toll road industry as it allows barrier-less entry of all vehicles plying the 10.7-kilometer stretch of CALAX from Mamplasan Entry and the Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Interchange. The utilization of the ALPR is part of the MPTC’s roadmap in providing motorists a more seamless and faster travel experience.
MPCALA has ensured the public that the information collected by the ALPR are processed, protected, and disposed in accordance with the Data Privacy Law.
Meanwhile, the company said that it continues to promote the use of Easytrip RFID along the expressway as part of its efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019.
Aside from availing the Easytrip RFID Sticker, motorists with the SLEX RFID can also enroll their existing account in all Easytrip Stations at CALAX Mamplasan Customer Service Center and Santa Rosa Toll Express.
Class 1 motorists may also choose to have their RFID stickers delivered to their doorstep via the Easytrip Stick-It-Yourself (SIY) RFID, which is readily available in online shopping apps.

Before the implementation of the community quarantine, CALAX’s first 10.7-kms has daily served around 10,000 vehicles between SLEX Mamplasan Exit and the new CALAX Santa Rosa-Tagaytay Interchange.
The 45-kilometer CALAX is a 2×2 lane expressway that will soon link CAVITEX in Kawit, Cavite to the South Luzon Expressway at Mamplasan Interchange in Biñan, Laguna. CALAX has 10)interchanges, namely: Kawit, Open Canal, ProFriends, Governor’s Drive, Silang, Silang East, Santa Rosa-Tagaytay, Laguna Blvd., Technopark and Mamplasan.
