Toyota advances the Avanza

The country’s top carmaker recently unveiled in Palawan the latest version of its popular subcompact multi-purpose vehicle (MPV), the Avanza. Combining proven dependability with contemporary style and high value, the Avanza positions itself as the ideal MPV for the Filipino family.

Since its introduction in the Philippines last 2006, the Avanza has now sold almost 100,000 units, earning the trust and loyalty of countless customers with Toyota standards of quality, durability and reliability. Currently on its second generation, the Avanza, whose retail price starts at P731,000, continues to provide worry-free ownership and affordable convenience to Filipino families, giving them the Toyota brand assurance that can be felt from sales to regular maintenance and beyond.

The new Avanza gets an exterior overhaul: its brand new fascia gives the vehicle a sportier look with a more confident stance. The facelift includes new split-type LED headlamps which seamlessly complement the character lines of the hood’s sheet metal, as well as new foglamps alongside its blacked-out grille. Stylish new bright-finish alloy wheels, chrome trim on the side sills, turn signal-integrated side mirrors, a sporty rear end and a fin-type antenna complete the new Avanza’s modern look.

The new Avanza comes equipped with a 6.8-inch capacitive touchscreen infotainment system that can also be found inside premium Toyota models like the RAV4 and the Camry. This multimedia console is enhanced with high-resolution K2 Technology audio that enables two phones hands-free and five phones music streaming. Smartphone mirroring is also allowed using the T-Ling app.

The Avanza makes sure that everyone is comfortable for the long drive with its seven-seater cabin and spacious cargo area. The interior design cues were patterned after versatility and practical daily use. A digital-display air-conditioning system and additional accessory connectors for the front and the back rows enhance the car’s convenience and functionality.

The Avanza is powered by either a 103hp 1.5-liter engine (Veloz and G variants) or a 95hp 1.3-liter (E and J variants). Drivers can choose between a four-speed automatic and a five-speed manual.

Aside from dual SRS airbags for driver and passenger and ABS, the Avanza has three-point ELR seatbelts for all seats and an ISOFIX child seat restraint system suited for starting families.

Noteworthy is the fact that there will be no change in the suggested retail price for the Veloz and G variants despite numerous additions and improvements on the model.
