Toll fee for C5 South Link Expressway eyed

An additional fee is being eyed for passage through the C5 South Link Expressway which is set to be opened to traffic on Tuesday.

In a report by BusinessWorld, the Toll Regulatory Board said that Cavitex Infrastructure Corp and the Philippine Reclamation Authority applied for a permit to collect a provisional fee for the portion of the 7.7-kilometer expressway.

In a newspaper bulletin, it was revealed that the fee for Class 1 vehicles will be P22, P44 for Class 2 vehicles, and P66 for Class 3 vehicles.

The board said stakeholders may seek a review of the concessionaire’s application within a month or up until August 17, the report said.

The first segment of the 7.7-kilometer C5 South Link, which will link C5 Road in Taguig to Merville in Paranaque City, will be opened on July 23.

“We are fast-tracking construction to be able to open the 2.2-km segment 3A1 toward the end of July to immediately alleviate congestion and enable motorists to easily cross from Merville, Parañaque to Taguig and vice versa,” Department of Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said.
