The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) and the NLEX Corporation inaugurated on Tuesday the 600-meter NLEX Balagtas Northbound Entry in Bulacan, providing faster access for motorists headed north of Metro Manila.
Drivers coming from Balagtas Interchange to the NLEX northbound can now utilize the newly-opened road, which bypasses the local roads and the Sta. Rita Interchange in Guiguinto, Bulacan. DPWH Secretary Mark Villar said that the newly opened gateway is part of the Duterte administration’s “Build Build Build” program.
“The Balagtas Northbound Entry, which started construction early this year, is part of the government’s road network improvement plan aimed at easing traffic congestion and bringing more investments in Central Luzon,” Sec. Villar stated.
According to NLEX Corporation president and general manager Luigi Bautista, the new road seeks to improve the mobility and productivity of everyone coming from Balagtas and motorists utilizing the Plaridel Bypass from Guiguinto, Plaridel, Bustos, and Baliwag.
Meanwhile, MPTC president and CEO Rodrigo Franco said that the Balagtas Northbound Entry signifies the Metro Pacific’s commitment to enhancing the countryside development while also providing a more easier and comfortable way to travel.
The NLEX Balagtas Northbound Entry is part of P7.7 billion worth of projects that are being constructed by the NLEX Corporation in a bid to resolve the issue of traffic congestion in Metro Mania and other major areas along the NLEX-SCTEX road network.
