Police officers killed four suspected carjackers in an alleged encounter in Plaridel, Bulacan on Sunday.
In a report by The STAR, the suspects reportedly hijacked a Toyota Vios that was parked in front of a convenience store.
The owner of the vehicle then immediately reported the incident to the local police, who set up checkpoints around the area.
The suspects allegedly avoided one of the checkpoints in Barangay Banga 1st, which prompted a police chase. The cops eventually caught up with the suspects in Barangay Bagong Silang at past 3 a.m. However, instead of surrendering, the suspects reportedly started a gunfight with the police, which led to their death.
Authorities recovered seven plastic sachets of shabu (methamphetamine), a pistol, two revolvers, an Uzi submachine gun, and the stolen vehicle at the scene of the incident. – Ramon Efren Lazaro and Romina Cabrera
