Six people died in a freak five-vehicle mishap in Tacurong City, Sultan Kudarat on Friday.
According to Tacurong City Police Officer-in-Charge Lt. Col. Rey Egos, the multiple-vehicle collision involved a sport utility vehicle, a pickup truck, two tricycles, and a motorcycle. The incident occurred at 4:10 a.m. along Alunan highway.
Investigation showed that a Mitsubishi Montero, driven by Omar Acob, and Toyota Hilux, driven by Brent Cerebo, were reportedly speeding on the highway when both vehicles hit two tricycles and a motorcycle, leaving six people dead and others injured.
The injured were rushed to the Tomboc Salayog Hospital for treatment. Police said that they are set to conduct further investigation on the incident to determine its cause. – Joy Cantos, John Unson
