Two lanes of EDSA would be closed tomorrow to pave the way for the celebration of the 34th anniversary of the EDSA People Power Revolution, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
The agency on Monday announced that two lanes of EDSA in front of the People Power Monument as well as the westbound portion of White Plains Avenue would be closed depending on the number of people joining the event. Additionally, a two-way traffic scheme will be implemented on the eastbound portion of White Plains Avenue.
The MMDA advised motorists to take the following alternate routes:
EDSA SOUTHBOUND
•Right to Aurora Boulevard or Santolan, left turn to Gilmore or Ortigas, right to EDSA to destination
EDSA NORTHBOUND
•Right turn to Kalayaan/Shaw Boulevard/Ortigas, left turn to C-5 Road to destination or
•Left turn to Ortigas towards Greenhills, right to Santolan to destination or
•Right turn to Ortigas, left turn to Green Meadows or C-5 to destination or
•Use the Zipper Lane on EDSA before Guadix Drive up to Santolan to destination
ORTIGAS EASTBOUND
•Straight ahead Ortigas, left turn to Green Meadows or C-5 to destination
ORTIGAS WESTBOUND
•Straight ahead Ortigas, right turn to Santolan or N. Domingo to destination
KATIPUNAN AVENUE TO WHITE PLAINS
•Straight ahead Temple Drive, right turn to Green Meadows to destination
TEMPLE DRIVE TO WHITE PLAINS
•Straight ahead Katipunan Avenue to destination
The MMDA has also suspended the number coding scheme tomorrow.
