A bank teller died after he was trapped inside a burning armored van following a vehicular accident along the Tarlac-Pangasinan-La Union Expressway (TPLEX) in Brgy. San Isidro on Tuesday.
In a Philippine Star report, a green armored van of United Coconut Planters Bank (UCPB) was allegedly plying the southbound lane of TPLEX when it made a full stop due to zero visibility caused by a grassfire.
The incident occurred when a truck suddenly hit the van, causing it to fall off the embankment of the expressway straight to the grassfire.
Three other occupants of the van were injured but managed to get out of the vehicle. They were rushed to the Loving Mother Gen. Hospital, Tarlac City for medical treatment.
The armored van came from the cities of Dagupan and Urdaneta to collect money from the UCPB branches and was on its way to Manila when the accident transpired. – Eva Visperas
