Leading automotive manufacturer Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP) has resumed operations in its Sta. Rosa, Laguna plant on May 18, after temporarily shutting down the production line last March in compliance with quarantine guidelines set by the government.
Before restarting operations, precautionary measures were conducted in the plant to ensure safety and adherence to production protocols under the ‘new normal.’
At present, the plant operates with 50 percent of the workforce capacity, in accordance with the government’s MECQ guidelines. Team members reporting back to work on the single shift operation were briefed about safety guidelines and sanitation measures that will be strictly followed in the plant.
The resumption of plant operations coincides with the reopening of Toyota dealer outlets nationwide,
as more areas in the country eases back into more relaxed community quarantine guidelines. A total of 66 out of the 70 Toyota dealerships have reopened as of May 20, 2020, enabling TMP to respond better to the needs of customers.
Relevant safety and sanitation guidelines will be observed in the dealerships, as well as strict social distancing measures within the showroom. Customers are encouraged to set an appointment before visiting their nearest dealers. The TMP dealers’ directory can be accessed at https://toyota.com.ph/dealer.
Aside from reopening of dealerships, the following service centers have also resumed services:
- Toyota Alabang Service Center
- Toyota Shaw Service Center
- Toyota North EDSA Service Center
- Toyota Davao Body and Paint Center
- Toyota Negros Occidental Service Center
