DPWH working on Harbor Link extension

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is eyeing to strike a deal with the Metro Pacific Group to extend the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) to Anda Circle in Port Area, Manila following the completion of the C3-R10 Section of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10.

In a report by BusinessWorld, Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said that they are currently working on an agreement with the Metro Pacific Group on the construction of the elevated expressway extension.

“That’s something that we are looking at right now. Since we have already finished this extension to R10, logically there is an opportunity to extend it further up to the area in the Anda Circle, so that from Roxas Boulevard, halos diretso na, makaka akyat na sila. That’s something that we are working on with the Metro Pacific Group,” Villar said.

The project seeks to improve access to the port area in Manila as it would continue the Harbor Link from C3 corner Navotas interchange all the way to Anda Circle.

The newly opened C3-R10 Section of NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 is an the elevated expressway that will provide direct access between R10 in Navotas City and NLEX.

According to the report, NLEX Corp. submitted to the DPWH in December its proposal to extend the NLEx Harbor Link Segment 10 from Navotas City to Anda Circle.

NLEX Corp. senior vice-president for communication Romulo S. Quimbo, Jr. said that the estimated cost of the proposed 5.1-kilometer expressway extension project, which will be called Harbor Link Port Access Mobility Facility, is P15 to P16 billion.
