Oil companies hike pump prices anew

Motorists will be greeted by a hike in fuel prices on Tuesday morning as oil companies announce price adjustments effective June 30.

Chevron Philippines Inc.(Caltex) will be the first to impose a P0.70 increase in its Platinum at Silver products, P0.30 per liter of diesel and P0.40 per liter of kerosene effective 12:01 am on Tuesday, June 30.

At 6 a.m., Pilipinas Shell will implement a price increase, P0.70 per liter of gasoline, P0.30 for diesel and P0.40 for kerosene.

At the same time, Phoenix Petroleum Philippines, Petro Gazz, Total, PTT Philippines and Seaoil will also increase their prices, P0.70 for gasoline and P0.30 for diesel.

Flying V will also increase the rates of their products by 6 a.m., hiking kerosene prices by P0.40. per liter, P0.70 for gasoline and P0.30 for biodiesel.

Cleanfuel will be the last to alter their prices, reflecting the new charges at 4:01 p.m. New fuel prices will increase by P0.70 per liter of gasoline and P0.30 for diesel. The new round of increases is reportedly caused by rising cost of ethanol that affected prices of gasoline in the country. – Ludy Bermundo
