The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said that the operating hours of MRT-3’s bus augmentation program will be extended starting tomorrow.
In order to serve more commuters amid the temporary suspension of MRT-3’s operations, Transportation Sec. Arthur Tugade ordered the extension of the operating hours of the bus augmentation program to 10 p.m. from the previous 8 p.m.
Tugade also instructed the MRT-3 to begin the dispatch of its bus augmentation program at 4 a.m. starting today in a bid to ferry more commuters specially during rush hour.
Meanwhile, Tugade also ordered the strict implementation of the 3-minute regular dispatch system under the bus augmentation program.
The MRT-3 has temporarily suspended its operations after more of its personnel tested positive for the coronavirus disease 2019.
The DOTr said that temporary shutdown is currently eyed for five days or until July 11. However, it clarified that the period may be shortened or extended, depending on the pace and results of RT-PCR testing.
