Motorcycle owners have until July 19 to install either of the two prescribed passenger barriers that will allow couples to ride on motorcycles together.
The National Task Force (NTF) against COVID-19 has approved the recommendation of JTF COVID Shield Commander Lt. Gen. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar to give motorcycle owners time to comply with the installation of barriers that will allow them to ride with their spouses.
Eleazar has urged riders to strictly comply with the approved barrier design that must be installed on their motorcycles.
Motorcycle riders may choose between the designs submitted by ride-hailing company Angkas or Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap.
Motorcycle backriding is currently allowed for couples who are living in the same household. In order for them to be allowed to ride together, plastic barriers or shields must be installed in a bid to curb the spread of the dreaded virus.
