DOTr Libreng Sakay continues daily trips for health workers

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) reminds health workers and medical frontliners to avail of the free daily trips under the Free Ride for Health Workers (Libreng Sakay) Program.

The free bus service operates in two shifts, from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m., which serves a total of 20 routes in the Greater Manila Area.

This aims to alleviate the transportation woes of medical frontliners now that the National Capital Region (NCR), Cavite, Laguna, Rizal and Bulacan was reverted back to “modified” enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) status until August 18.

The Libreng Sakay program was successfully implemented through the efforts of the DOTr with the Office of the President, House of Representatives, Supreme Court, Office of the Solicitor General, Court of Appeals, Sandiganbayan, Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), Department of Health (DOH), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), Philippine National Police (PNP), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Commission on Audit (COA), Land Transportation Office (LTO), Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and Inter-Agency Council for Traffic (I-ACT).
