Kapuso actor Jose Sixto ‘DingDong’ Dantes III recently announced the launch of DingDong PH, his very own delivery app that aims to help fellow showbiz workers displaced by the pandemic.
With an apt tagline that says “You ring it, we bring it,” the new DingDong PH app harnesses technology by serving as the delivery services provider of home-based specialty food and beverage businesses. For social impact, it will employ displaced workers from the movie and television industry and train them as delivery riders.
Dantes, chairman of the Yes Pinoy Foundation, introduced the ‘Dream Team’ behind the DingDong PH app.
Multisys Technologies Corp. head David Almirol Jr., develops the DingDong App platform. Tech lawyer Mark Gorriceta heads legal, corporate, and regulatory compliance work. Business technology coach and serial software entrepreneur Joey Gurango serves as senior adviser, while industry veteran Raffy Maramag – who brings a wealth of experience from JobStreet PH, Multiply.com, Ensogo PH and OLX Ph – is in charge of front and back-end operations.
Advertising and television commercial director Sid Maderazo leads the marketing team and business development expert/entrepreneur Ranvel Rufino spearheads the company’s strategic partnerships and business development. Meanwhile, Philippine Superbike Champion Raniel Resuello takes charge of DingDong’s rider training and management.
“I recognize that my first business venture is show business, and my strength lies in telling stories and realities through my craft. This time, with DingDong PH, I will be abe to share stories of our merchants, who we intend to grow with; our riders, who we want to uplift and professionalize; and our consumers, who have been more discerning because of the new normal,” Dantes said.
Dantes came up with the idea for the DingDong PH app when his wife Marian Rivera and her home-based flower business encountered some delivery problems. To remedy the problem, Dantes hopped on his e-scooter bike and delivered the flowers himself.
“Together, we’re excited to bring this passion project to fruition, and to be able to build back better lives and empower sectors through the DingDong PH platform and online community,” Dantes concludes.
