A Baguio-bound fuel tanker carrying 24,000 liters of gasoline plunged into a ravine in sitio Bawek, Taloy Sur, Tuba, Benguet early Monday morning.
According to Cordillera police director Brig. General RWin Pagkalinawan, Tuba town police investigators found out that the driver, identified as Diezon Asis Bernardo, was travelling along an uphill road and upon overtaking another fuel tanker, swerved towards the road shoulder and plunged into the ravine.
The driver was rushed to a hospital after he was taken out from the 18-wheeler tanker that turned turtle at the 8-meter ravine.
Pagkalinawan, quoting Tuba policemen, said the gasoline had not leaked so far from the tanker. – Artemio Dumlao/The STAR
