The Land Transportation Office (LTO) Pasay will launch its free theoretical driving course for student permit applicants next week.
Beginning October 19, the agency said in an advisory that those who would like to avail of its free theoretical driving course may book an online appointment by filling out this Google form.
The LTO, however, noted that the slots for its online appointment will be limited and will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. The agency’s free theoretical driving course will be divided into three sessions and will be held from Monday to Wednesday. Each session will last for 5 hours.
In compliance with the IATF guidelines, the agency said that pregnant women, senior citizens, walk-ins and those who are 20 years old and below will not be accepted in the program.
The Land Transportation Office announced last September 29 that the validity of student permits which expired during the community quarantine will be extended until October 31, 2020.
The agency earlier said that all LTO sites will only accept and process applications for student permits, new driver’s licenses and additional restriction code transactions from applicants who have secured driving course completion certificates.
Under the new requirement, applicants of student driver’s permit will be required to undergo a theoretical 15-hour driving course while renewing applicants are required to undertake an eight-hour driving enhancement program.
