The Land Transportation Office (LTO) announced on Monday that it will now accommodate clients aged 17-21 years old as well as those who are 60-65 years old in all of its offices following the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF).
“Alinsunod sa rekomendasyon ng IATF, ang mga opisina ng LTO ay muling makakapaglingkod sa mga kliyenteng 17-21 taong gulang at 60-65 taong gulang,” the agency said in an advisory.
The LTO also announced that the validity of student permit, driver’s license and conductor’s license of those belonging to the age group mentioned above will be extended up until the end of the year.
“Ang mga Student Permit, Driver’s License, at Conductor’s License ng mga nabanggit na nag-expire sa restriction period ay extended ang validity hanggang 31 December 2020,” it said.
The LTO earlier extended the validity of student permits which expired during the community quarantine will be extended until October 31, 2020.
The agency earlier announced that the validity of vehicle registration will be extended in order to avoid congestion in its offices amid the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic.
The LTO previously said that the registration validity of motor vehicles with plate numbers ending in 6, 7 and 8 will be extended until October 30, 2020 while those ending in 9 and 0 will be given until December 31, 2020.
