The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) said that the 18-kilometer section of the Central Luzon Link Expressway (CLLEX) is slated to open on May 15, 2021.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark Villar said on Monday that the CLLEX’s section from the connection of SCTEX and TPLEX in Balingcanaway, Tarlac City up to Aliaga Interchange in Nueva Ecija will be “substantially completed” within the next 90 days.
“We are seeing a quality infrastructure that will benefit around 11,200 motorists and commuters daily and ease traffic at Daang Maharlika Highway about to be delivered by the President Rodrigo Roa Duterte administration”, Villar said.
The toll-free expressway is seen to reduce travel time between the cities of Tarlac and Cabanatuan from 70 minutes to just 20 minutes.
Undersecretary for Unified Project Management Office Operations Emil K. Sadain said in his briefing that the 4.10-kilometer Tarlac Section and 6.40-kilometer Rio Chico River Bridge Section, which includes the 1.5-km Rio Chico Viaduct, are already completed.
Meanwhile, Sadain said that the 9.20-kilometer Aliaga Section and 10.30-kilometer Cabanatuan Section of CLLEX are 78.46 percent and 85.04 percent complete.
