In a separate announcement, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) said that the number coding scheme in the metropolis will remain suspended while the truck ban regulation on major thoroughfares will take effect beginning May 17.
Under the MMDA’s existing truck ban policy, trucks are prohibited from traversing major thoroughfares in Metro Manila from Monday to Saturday, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m. and from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
“A total truck ban is enforced along EDSA, from Magallanes Interchange in Makati City to North Avenue in Quezon City, 24 hours from Monday to Sunday,” the MMDA said.
“Trucks carrying perishable and agricultural foodstuffs are exempted from the ban,” it added.
