Grab PH launches new initiative to support vaccination efforts in Metro Manila

Ride-hailing firm Grab Philippines recently launched a new initiative in order to provide safe mobility solutions for residents going to and from vaccination centers in Metro Manila.

In a statement, the company said that the initiative is part of its broader GrabBayanihan Vaccination Support Program to support easier access to the COVID-19 vaccine and to encourage its consumers to get vaccinated through the local government units.

Initially beta-tested in Quezon City, the company said that the GrabCar Bayanihan will pilot with over a thousand vaccinated driver-partners, and will be available in Manila, Las Pinas, Taguig, Pasig, Makati, Quezon City, Pateros, and Marikina.

Grab Philippines said that it’s working closely with the other local government units to extend GrabCar Bayanihan service to support their residents with safe mobility service going to and from their vaccination centers.

Apart from providing safe mobility solutions to support the vaccination programs in Metro Manila, the ride-hailing compnay said that its GrabCar Bayanihan will also provide much-needed livelihood opportunities for Grab driver-partners residing in these cities.

“Grab remains committed to ensuring the safety and welfare of our kababayans most especially during these challenging times. By working together with our local government partners in Metro Manila on their COVID vaccination efforts, we play our part in ensuring that our kababayans are safe, well, and healthy – and we look forward to working on the same goals with the rest of our national and local government partners. As we all work towards a safe and gradual recovery for our communities, Grab will continue to leverage its platform and technology to ensure that our kababayans have the means to get inoculated,” Grab Philippines Country Head Grace Vera Cruz said said.
