The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is set to open the Estrella-Pantaleon bridge on Thursday, July 29.
In a Facebook post on Wednesday, Public Works and Highways Sec. Mark Villar announced that the bridge linking Mandaluyong City to the central business district of Makati City will be opened to the motoring public tomorrow at 8 p.m.
“This newly completed bridge was implemented by DPWH Unified Project Management Office Operations and is expected to further decongest vehicular traffic at Epifanio delos Santos Avenue (EDSA),” Villar said in a statement.
The China-funded 506-meter bridge is expected to alleviate bottlenecks between Estrella street in Makati and Barangka Drive in Mandaluyong.
The P1.46-billion project will feature four lanes from the previous two and can accommodate an average of 50,000 vehicles per day.
