Maserati Levante, electrified

Electrification is truly upon us, especially with a new law in place that’s supposed to bolster the sales of EVs in the country. But let’s face it – the transition to EVs won’t happen overnight. For those who want to venture into electrified vehicles but are still on the fence due to lack of infrastructure, then hybrid vehicles are for you.

Maserati Philippines, under the distributorship of Modena Motorsports, has officially launched the Levante GT Hybrid. This is the second hybrid model from the Italian automaker locally, following the footsteps of the Ghibli Hybrid that arrived last year. Of note, the Levante GT Hybrid is the first electrified SUV of Maserati.

Maserati’s philosophy behind the Levante: “the aim of improving performance while staying true to the Brand’s values, delivering speed and agility while saving fuel and reinforcing the Trident’s dedication to driving pleasure and luxury.”

The Maserati Levante GT Hybrid is a mild-hybrid type, which means that the electric motor is there for performance and efficiency boost. Powering the Levante Hybrid is a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-banger and a 48-volt Hybrid system to recover energy during deceleration and braking.

According to the automaker, the Levante Hybrid is lighter than its six-cylinder equivalent and has a better weight distribution since the battery is placed at the rear.

Overall output is at 330 metric horsepower and 450Nm of torque. With an all-wheel-drive system, the Levante Hybrid can sprint to 100 km/h in 6 seconds and can continue on until 240 km/h.

As expected from a Maserati, the Levante Hybrid comes with a luxurious cabin with hints of blue on the seats to signify its electrified nature. Outside styling accents include blue side air ducts, brake calipers, and C-pillar emblems.

Maserati offers various ownership services through its Connect program – also present in the Levante Hybrid.

Maserati Philippines didn’t disclose the pricing of the Levante Hybrid, though it’s available upon request. Those who would like to view the unit can do so through Maserati’s showroom in BGC, Taguig.
