The latest iteration of the Ford Ranger is probably a few nautical miles away now as Ford Philippines just opened the reservation books. The full pricing hasn’t been announced yet but they’ve teased that the starting price will be P1,198,000.
The new Ford Ranger sits on the same platform but tweaks were made to improve it. It now has a 50mm longer wheelbase and has a 50mm wider track. Suspension was also revised to improve riding comfort and performance on and off the road.
It also received a lot of tweaks in terms of aesthetics. It has a bolder design with a wider stance. The new C-shape headlights flank the redesigned grille that has outlines extending to the lower bumper. Changes were also done on the tail lights and the tailgate itself, now sporting contours to emphasize the Ranger emblem. All in all it empowers the unmistakable Built Ford Tough look.
Inside, the changes are headed by the huge 10 or 12-inch portrait touchscreen. It has SYNC 4A which is capable of Android Auto and Wireless Apple CarPlay. There’s also new design on the seats, while a fully digital instrument panel is also available. Safety was also upgraded with the integration of new driver assist technologies like a 360-degree camera.
Engine options have been narrowed down to 2. First is the 2-liter single turbo diesel engine that will be paired with a 6-speed automatic or manual. Then there’s the 2-liter bi-turbo diesel engine that will be exclusive with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
“The huge anticipation towards the next-gen Ranger is trulygaining ground – from the positive feedback we’re seeing on social media and getting from our dealers, partners, and employees, so we’re starting our launch festivities on a high note by kicking off reservations ahead of our local reveal.” said Mike Breen, Managing Director for Ford Philippines.
The full specs and pricing of the variants are said to be revealed closer to launch, which is ‘within the next few weeks.’ Anyone interested can reserve their next-gen Ford Ranger at any Ford dealership nationwide.
