“Nissan Kicks E-Power, Leaf, and Livina Steal The Spotlight at PIMS 2022”

The Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) is a great place to take a peek at what’s in store for the automotive industry — both in the present and for the imminent future. And what better way to showcase both than to present electrified vehicles at the show?

For Nissan Philippines, it’s the Nissan Kicks e-POWER and LEAF. Both cars take center stage at the 2022 PIMS, giving the Filipino audience a taste of what electrification has to offer that comes with a Nissan badging.

Nissan Kicks e-POWER

The Nissan Kicks e-POWER is the brand’s latest subcompact SUV offering. It effectively replaces the Juke in the lineup, armed with a more dynamic look and an even more exciting form of electrification. Just like the LEAF, the Kicks e-POWER is exclusively propelled by an electric motor. The difference is that the Kicks utilizes Nissan’s e-POWER technology that uses a gasoline engine to act as a generator, charging the batteries in the process. This eliminates the need to charge the vehicle in charging stations.

Nissan LEAF

Meanwhile, the Nissan LEAF was introduced by the automaker a few years back and is its bestselling EV globally. In fact, the LEAF is one of the bestselling electric vehicles in the world.

But apart from headlining its EV tech to Filipino audiences, Nissan Philippines is showcasing the LEAF’s Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) system as part of the vehicle’s bi-directional energy transfer capability. In a nutshell, a V2L system allows the LEAF’s batteries to power something external to the car, such as a domestic appliance.

Apart from the electrified products, Nissan PH also puts the new Livina on the limelight at PIMS. The compact MPV is set to join the tightly contested MPV segment in the country, going up against the Toyota Avanza, Mitsubishi Xpander, Suzuki Ertiga, and the upcoming Hyundai Stargazer.

Nissan Philippines completes its booth with a full range of its lineup, namely the Terra midsize SUV, Navara midsize pickup truck, Patrol full-size SUV, Almera subcompact sedan, and the GT-R sports coupe.

The 2022 PIMS is happening from September 15-18, 2022 at the World Trade Center in Pasay City.
