Dodge Philippines is adding a new variant in the Challenger muscle car family with the Challenger V6 GT.
The move marks the return of the V6 engine option to the local Challenger line-up. Though most Challenger owners would gravitate towards the legendary Hemi V8, those who don’t necessarily need the grunt can opt for the 3.6-liter V6. Despite dropping two cylinders and a compact sedan’s worth of displacement, it still manages a healthy 304 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and 363 Nm of torque at 4,800 rpm. The Challenger GT routes all its power through the rear wheels with an 8-speed automatic giving it a quarter mile time of 13.8 seconds.

The engine’s torque exceeds 90 percent of its peak value from 1,800 to 6,400 rpm—providing outstanding everyday drivability and responsiveness. In addition, thanks to its all-aluminum design, the lighter engine imbues the Dodge Challenger GT with a 52/48 front-to-rear weight distribution for improved balance and handling. Standard idle start/stop tech further improves fuel mileage.
Priced at P 4.490-million, the Challenger GT comes with a functional hood scoop, performance steering, sports suspension, and launch control as standard. At each corner are 20-inch satin chrome wheels fitted with 245/45R20 tires. Inside, it has Nappa/Alcantara combination seats with heating and ventilation for the front row, a 7-inch digital gauge cluster with analog tach and speedo for the driver, an 8.4-inch infotainment touchscreen, a 9-speaker Alpine sound system, and more.
And despite being made to go extremely fast in a straight line, it comes with a multitude of safety systems including Blind Spot Monitoring, Electronic Stability Control, tire pressure sensors, rear parking sensors with a reverse camera.
The current model Challenger is the last internal combustion engine of Dodge’s iconic muscle car. The carmaker has confirmed that next-generation models will go fully electric making models like the Challenger GT a collector’s item. Market response is so overwhelming that together with its V8 variants, the Challenger has managed to outsell both the Ford Mustang and Chevrolet Camaro in full-year sales.
The Challenger GT comes in 10 colors: White Knuckle, Torred, Granite, Go Mango, Pitch Black, Octane Red, Hellraisin, Frostbite, and Indigo Blue. It’s now available for orders at any of the five authorized Dodge dealerships nationwide: Dodge Alabang, Dodge Cebu, Dodge Clark, Dodge Greenhills, and Dodge Pampanga.
