MG Philippines has made a significant statement at the 2024 Manila International Auto Show (MIAS) by showcasing its entire current lineup along with a glimpse of its future offerings. As part of the SAIC-owned company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, a major focus was placed on electric mobility, evident through the unveiling of several electrified models.
The sprawling booth of MG Philippines at the MIAS attracted throngs of visitors, all eager to witness the brand’s latest offerings. Among the prominent displays were the highly anticipated MG Cyberster, the all-new IM LS7, and a variety of other electrified vehicles.
Leading the charge was the MG Cyberster, marking its official public debut after an exclusive preview in 2023. Sporting a striking convertible body style, the Cyberster exudes sportiness with its long hood, fabric roof, and scissor doors. Inside, the Burgundy red leather-clad interior complements the vehicle’s high-tech features, including an infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a digital gauge cluster, and advanced driver-assist safety features.
Powered by a twin electric motor setup, the MG Cyberster delivers an impressive 536 horsepower and 720 Nm of torque. Its substantial electric range of 446 km, as per WLTP standards, further solidifies its appeal. With a price tag of approximately P4,500,000, the Cyberster is positioned as a premium offering in the electric sports car segment.
Another highlight was the IM LS7, a fully-electric luxury crossover poised to enter the market soon. Boasting a sleek exterior design with innovative features such as the “Starfall windshield” and powered frameless doors, the LS7 promises a futuristic driving experience. Its interior is equipped with a 42-inch triple screen setup, 24 speakers, and the Evolvable Intelligent Driving Assistance System (EIDAS), showcasing MG’s commitment to cutting-edge technology.
In addition to these groundbreaking models, MG Philippines showcased an array of electrified vehicles, including the MG3 hybrid-electric hatchback, MG ZS EV, MG4 EV XPOWER, and more. Redesigned versions of the RX9 and MG7 are also present. Specific details such as pricing and specifications for some models were not disclosed during the event.
