Omoda 7 previewed as a high-tech, sleek crossover

Omoda has officially unveiled its latest masterpiece – the Omoda 7, in an event in WuHu, Anhui province, China. This vehicle marks the next evolution of the Omoda lineup, the latest in terms of design. It’s positioned above the Omoda 5, launched in the Philippines during the 2024 Manila International Auto Show.

Building upon the sleek design philosophy of its predecessor, the Omoda 7 exudes youthful charm with its sharp LED headlamps, stylish side profile, and distinctive black-colored roof. It’s crafted to capture the imagination of the younger generation, often dubbed as the “Gen Z” crowd.

Embracing the digital age, the Omoda 7 is equipped with a plethora of onboard technologies aimed at enhancing the driving experience. Among its notable features is a huge 15.6-inch touchscreen seamlessly integrated into the dashboard, accompanied by a state-of-the-art sound system comprising a total of 14 speakers. Omoda boasts that this ensemble delivers a concert hall-quality audio experience, further complemented by an intelligent fragrance system and active noise cancellation technology, fostering an ambiance of freshness and tranquility within the cabin.

Safety remains a paramount concern for Omoda, evident in the Omoda 7’s commitment to meeting global 5-star safety standards. Engineered with precision, the vehicle incorporates energy-absorbing compartments, innovative “6S airbag retention technology,” and a robust body structure with exceptional torsional stiffness. Additionally, an array of advanced driver assist features (ADAS) further reinforces the Omoda 7’s dedication to passenger safety.

Underneath its sleek exterior lies Omoda’s latest hybrid powertrain architecture, promising exceptional performance and efficiency.

While specific output figures remain undisclosed, the Omoda 7 boasts an estimated range of an impressive 1,200 kilometers on a single tank of fuel. Notably, the hybrid system achieves an outstanding thermal efficiency of 44.5 percent, with the battery alone capable of delivering up to 95 kilometers of electric-only range.

Omoda sets its sights on a global release for the all-new Omoda 7 in 2025. It’s unclear whether Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines will bring the model locally, but design-wise, it stands a fighting chance in the increasing population of crossovers already available in the country. Hopefully, it will join the Omoda 5 and E5 in the local lineup after its global launch.
