A tale of two thoroughbreds: Ford unleashes the all-new Bronco and Mustang

No prancing horses here—what we’ve got is a bucking bronco and a galloping stallion.

Ford Philippines opened its corral last week and unleashed a couple of iconic thoroughbreds—the much-anticipated Bronco SUV and the exciting all-new Mustang.

Bronco—the pioneering SUV, before the term was even invented

Unveiled in a grand launch in the grand ballroom of Okada Manila, the 5-door Bronco is all set to transform Metro Manila streets with its striking lines and rugged style.

The all-new Bronco will come in the Outer Banks variant with Sasquatch Package with a starting retail price of P4,998,000. It also comes with a complimentary Peace of Mind service inspection package for a worry-free ownership experience.

“The SUV that started it all for Ford is finally here. We are excited that Filipinos get to finally experience the off-road performance of the all-new Bronco. With its iconic design and rugged terrain capabilities, adventure seekers are in for a thrill as it can take on extreme conditions in the great outdoors,” said Mike Breen, managing director, Ford Philippines.

The Bronco Outer Banks variant with Sasquatch Package boasts features such as:

Advanced 4×4 with On Demand Engagement – With its G.O.A.T. Modes (Goes Over Any Type of Terrain), it can match performance to the terrain, weather, or whatever the roads and trails throw your way, with the simple turn of a dial.

High-performance Off-road Stability Suspension (HOSS) system with position-sensitive Bilstein shock absorbers – Designed for the harshest conditions, this helps deliver off-road stability at higher speeds and great precision at lower speeds.

4.7 final drive ratio with electronic-locking front and rear axle – Engineered for maximum traction, this helps ensure grip and torque are optimal, no matter the drive.

High-clearance suspension and high-clearance fender flares – These easily help the Bronco traverse off-road terrain, while helping keep mud, dirt, and other elements away from the vehicle body.

17” black high-gloss beadlock-capable aluminum wheels with Warm Alloy Beauty Ring – Adding more muscle to the overall look of the Bronco, these also help in off-road situations, giving tires better traction in low air-pressure situations.

35” Mud-Terrain (M/T) tires – These tires help give the all-new Bronco added traction whether driving through muddy, rocky or uphill conditions.

Powering the Bronco is a 2.7L EcoBoost V6 engine with Auto Start-Stop, delivering 335ps o and 555Nm of torque and is mated to a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Inside, the Bronco features leather seats in Dark Space Gray and Navy Pier color with 10-way power-adjust for the driver’s seat and 8-way power-adjust for the front passenger.

Combining functionality and style, the Bronco comes with a Carbonized Gray Molded-in-Color Hard Top with sound deadening headliner that’s ready to withstand a variety of weather conditions. It also gives an open-air rush with an easy-to-pull-off-and-store removable roof and doors option.

Connectivity is also a core feature of the Bronco, starting with a SYNC 4 infotainment system with 12” color touchscreen with swipe capability and Enhanced Voice Recognition ensuring easier access to various controls of the vehicle. The screen also doubles as a monitor for the 360-degree camera that gives better visibility especially in rocky and unpredictable terrain.

The Bronco is also equipped with a premium B&O Sound System with 10 speakers including subwoofer for an immersive audio experience. It also comes with Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology, a suite of enhanced driver-assist technologies and safety features such as Auto High-Beam Headlights, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross-Traffic Alert, Lane Keeping System, and Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, to name a few.

The new Bronco is also FordPass app-ready with certain features such as the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor, Vehicle Status, and Vehicle Location-giving owners information they need to fuel their adventures.

The Bronco comes in the following colors: Eruption Green, Race Red, Cactus Gray, Oxford White, Azure Gray (additional P20,000), and Shadow Black. It is exclusively available for online reservation via the Ford Philippines website, and is expected to arrive Ford in dealerships starting mid-June 2024. But that’s just part 1.

Mustang—The 7th generation of the original pony car

On the same night also at Okada Manila, Ford Philippines officially launched the all-new 7th-generation Mustang (they gave a sneak peek of it last month in Palacio de Manila) and announced its current availability at Ford dealerships nationwide (with online reservations via the Ford Philippines website).

The new Mustang comes in two variants: the 5.0L GT Premium Fastback with a starting retail price of P3,999,000 and the 2.3L EcoBoostPremium Fastback that starts at P3,499,000. Customers also get a complimentary Peace of Mind service inspection package with their vehicle purchase.

Both variants offer unique propositions for drivers. Previously available to the GT Premium variant only, both variants of the new Mustang will have the MagneRide Damping System with sophisticated control strategies that increase comfort while expanding the sports coupe’s performance limits on the road or on the racetrack.

Other key features include high-performance Brembo brakes, a quad chrome-tip exhaust with Active Valve Functionality that lets the driver control the volume of the Mustang’s engine growl, and 19-inch aluminum wheels with unique designs for each variant.

The interiors also hint to the new Mustang’s speed with Recaro leather sport seats and soft-touch accents all around.

The GT Premium Fastback variant comes with a 493ps/567Nm 5.0LTi-VCT V8 engine mated to a 10-speed SelectShift automatic.

The EcoBoost Premium Fastback variant, meanwhile, has a 319ps/475Nm 2.3L EcoBoost 4-cylinder engine under its hood mated to a 10-Speed SelectShift automatic.

A segment-first electronic drift brake takes new technology to the racetrack, unlocking the rear-wheel-drive drifting capability of Mustang with the visual appeal and functionality of a traditional, mechanical hand brake. The Performance Electronic Parking Brake comes standard with the Performance Pack on all Mustang models, engineered for novice drivers to learn and improve their drift skills while also providing expert drivers with a competition-ready system.

While everything about the car has hints of its muscle car DNA, the all-new Mustang comes equipped with the latest driving and safety tech starting with its selectable drive modes. Drivers can easily maneuver across varying road conditions as they can choose between different drive modes: Normal, Sport, Slippery, Custom, Track, and Drag Strip—all with a simple click.

A new magnesium-framed 13” color center display offers seamless connectivity with the vehicle with SYNC4 with Enhanced Voice Recognition, Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto compatibility, as well as wireless mobile charging. For the driver, a 12” digital cluster provides real-time information.

The all-new Mustang also comes with Ford Co-Pilot360 Technology that actively assists drivers while enhancing the overall road experience. It has a Blind Spot Information System (BLIS) with Cross Traffic Alert and Braking, Auto High Beam Headlights, Post Impact Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go and Lane Centering Assist function. It also has Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Evasive Steer Assist that alert and assists the driver if a potential collision is detected.

Taking the vehicle’s tech further is the FordPass connectivity. With certain features such as the Intelligent Oil Life Monitor, Vehicle Status, and Vehicle Location, owners are supported with the information they seek the thrill of driving in the open road.

“We are elated that the all-new Mustang is finally here. With its mix of on-road performance and dashing style, customers are in for thrill with every Mustang drive,” said Breen.

Both variants of the new Mustang will be available in the following colors: Vapor Blue, Iconic Silver, Race Red, Oxford White and Shadow Black. There are also GT Premium Exclusive Colors—Grabber Blue and Yellow Splash—which customers can get for an additional P20,000. It is exclusively available for online reservation via the Ford Philippines website. For more information, customers can visit a Ford dealership or log on to ford.to/ReserveAllNewMustang.
