Honda unveils safer, sharper-looking City Hatchback

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) officially launched last week at Bonifacio High Street in BGC the 2024 City Hatchback. The updated model now boasts updates to its interior and exterior, but more notably, now also comes with Honda SENSING. This is the follow up to its predecessor that previously held 90% of the B-segment hatchback market share.

The familiar versatile sportiness of the City Hatchback has been improved with an updated RS body kit with a new honeycomb grille as well as new front and rear bumpers with sharper edges. It also comes with handsome 16-inch Berlina Black alloy wheels.

Honda SENSING now makes the new City Hatchback extra safe. It is Honda’s advanced driver-assist system (ADAS), developed as a response to the brand’s goal to realize a collision-free society by 2050, providing safer roads for all who use them.

The Honda SENSING features on the new City Hatchback are:

  1. Lead Car Departure Notification (LCDN)
  2. Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
  3. Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS)
  4. Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS)
  5. Road Departure Mitigation and Lane Departure Warning (RDM with LDW)
  6. Auto High Beam (AHB)

For added safety and convenience, the new City Hatchback now has Walk Away Auto Door Lock and six airbags. Technological updates include a 4.2” TFT meter and Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the 8-inch infotainment system.

Inside the 2024 City Hatchback now are RS full-leather seats and a new color, Sonic Gray Pearl, which is not currently available for any model that HCPI is carrying right now. Other colors also include Ignite Red Metallic, Platinum White Pearl, Meteoroid Gray Metallic, and Brilliant Sporty Blue Metallic.

It’s still powered by Honda’s smooth, spirited, yet highly fuel-efficient 1.5-liter i-VTEC engine (121ps/145Nm) mated to a CVT. All other attributes and features of the previous City hatchback, including the vaunted ULTR (Utility, Long, Tall, Refresh) seats, are present in the new model.

Only one variant—the RS—will be available, which retails at PHP 1,189,000.
