Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) kicked off the 9th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) with a bang, unveiling the Honda Civic RS e:HEV as the star of their “Sporty DNA: Redefined” exhibit. This electrified variant of the Civic marks Honda’s firm commitment to sustainable and electrified mobility, positioning the brand as a major player in the country’s shift towards greener automotive solutions.
A Bold New Chapter for the Civic
Following its preview at Honda’s “Transform the Future – One Honda Electrification” event last September, the Civic RS e:HEVmade its grand public debut at the 2024 PIMS, officially joining Honda’s expanding hybrid lineup alongside the popular CR-V. The Civic RS e:HEV promises to blend the sporty DNA Honda fans have come to love with cutting-edge hybrid technology.
“We are committed to providing greener and more sustainable mobility solutions for the Filipino market. This new Civic model signifies a new era of electrified sportiness, showcasing Honda’s innovation and leadership in hybrid technology,” HCPI President Rie Miyake said during the launch.
A Sportier, Electrified Drive
The Honda Civic RS e:HEV not only brings a more fuel-efficient and environmentally-friendly option to Filipino drivers but also elevates the driving experience with its enhanced performance and sporty design.
Powered by Honda’s renowned e:HEV full hybrid system, the new Civic RS promises a fun-to-drive experience while significantly reducing emissions. Additionally, the model is equipped with Honda SENSING, which has been updated with a wider camera for improved safety, as well as the refreshed Honda CONNECT system, offering added convenience with its advanced connectivity features.
New features across the Civic lineup include parking sensors, Type C USB ports, and a new 9-inch Audio Display unit that was previously only available on RS variants. Most notably, this is the first Honda model in the Philippines to come equipped with Google Built-in, allowing drivers to control car functions, navigation, and third-party apps through voice commands. This hands-free feature is part of Honda’s ongoing commitment to creating safer roads by minimizing distractions.
Eye-Catching Colors and Exclusive Offers
Honda also introduced fresh color options for the new Civic lineup at PIMS. Exclusive to the Civic RS e:HEVis the striking Canyon River Blue Metallic, which is expected to draw attention from those looking for a sportier aesthetic. Other available colors include CrystalBlack Pearl, Platinum White Pearl, and Meteoroid Gray Metallic, with Ignite Red Metallic reserved exclusively for RS variants.
To sweeten the deal, HCPI announced that reservation fees for the Civic RS e:HEV will be waived from October 24 to October 31, 2024. Customers who make a reservation can also avail of exclusive promos, including a PHP 5,000 test drive discount and free one-year periodic maintenance service or PHP 10,000 cash discount.
More Highlights from the Honda Exhibit
Aside from the launch of the Civic RS e:HEV, Honda’s exhibit at PIMS featured other exciting models and limited editions. These include the CR-V V Turbo Limited Edition, which combines practicality with stylish sporty accessories, and the MUGEN Civic Type R Group.A, a special version of the Civic Type R that will see only five units available in the Philippines.
Fans of two-wheelers were also treated to the unveiling of the All-New EM1 e:, Honda’s first battery electric scooter, as well as the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, a super sports bike with MotoGP-inspired DNA.
Honda also used the PIMS platform to introduce its new Honda Leasing Program, designed to offer customers more flexible financing options, lower upfront costs, and comprehensive after-sales maintenance perks. This move is part of Honda’s strategy to make its vehicles more accessible to Filipino buyers while ensuring long-term value and convenience.
Test Drives and More at PIMS
Visitors to the 9th Philippine International Motor Show, held at the World Trade Center in Pasay City from October 24 to 27, 2024, will have the opportunity to test drive the Civic RS e:HEV and other Honda models. Special offers, including PHP 5,000 waived reservation fees and exclusive discounts on Honda Genuine Accessories, will also be available throughout the event.
