Omoda & Jaecoo Philippines, or O&J, has been a long time coming. In fact, I’ve been to China twice in past few years with their invitation, been in several of its events and test drives, but the company hasn’t opened a showroom to sell its cars – at least not yet in Metro Manila.
But the newest automotive player explains that this is because it wants to start selling with everything already setup, including parts logistics, aftersales services, etc. It also aims to remedy the lack of dealerships in the country’s economic capital soon, with four showrooms already under construction, with a target of putting up a total of 24 this year. Plus, during its brand launch, O&J has revealed the pricing of its initial lineup, the Omoda E5 and C5, and the Jaecoo EJ6, and they’re quite competitive considering what they can offer.
The Omoda C5 presents an enticing option for crossover buyers, with O&J claiming that it’s hinted towards buyers that prioritizes style and technology with their cars. The C5 has three variants to cater to different budgets and preferences, with the base Lifestyle variant priced at P998,000. The mid-level Comfort is priecd at P1,159,000, while the top-spec Luxury asking for P1,279,000. Mechanically, these three are identical, only differing with their levels of equipment and features.
Buyers of the Omoda C5 will receive a free 2-year Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS), which should be a great perk for a worry-free ownership – at least for the first two years. Additionally, a limited-time promo allows customers to pay a P10,000 deposit and save P110,000, valid until June 30. For those looking to transition to EVs, Omoda has E5 priced at P1,699,000. This all-electric SUV comes with several free perks with that price tag, including a portable charger, a wall charger, and a 2-year PMS. Buyers who place a P20,000 deposit before June 30 can enjoy a substantial P220,000 discount.
Probably the best model of the bunch, the Jaecoo side of O&J Philippines offers the EJ6 as its initial model. The EJ6 offers both an All-Wheel Drive (AWD) variant priced at P1,799,000 and a Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) variant priced at P1,649,000. Both versions come with a portable charger, a wall charger, and a 2-year PMS, making them competitive choices in the premium SUV segment.
O&J wants to set itself apart by providing some of the most comprehensive warranty programs in the market. All vehicles come with a 7-year or 200,000 km vehicle warranty, ensuring long-term reliability. Additionally, the engine warranty extends up to 10 years or 1,000,000 km. For electric vehicle (EV) owners, the battery warranty covers 8 years or 200,000 km – numbers that are becoming a standard in EVs these days.
O&J Philippines is currently setting up shop in Metro Manila, with three dealerships undergoing construction at the time of this writing. These showrooms are located in Pasig (Marcos Highway), Alabang, and Manila (UN Avenue). Meanwhile, provincial dealerships are located in Santa Rosa, Laguna, while two locations in Cebu (Cebu City and Tagum) are already operational. The company aims to open 24 dealerships this year in various locations in the country this year, though dealer principals for these locations are yet to sign on the dotted line.
