P3-B Mindanao road projects started

The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has started the construction on three road projects in Mindanao.

According to DPWH Secretary Mark Villar, the ongoing projects in the island provinces of Mindanao cover a total of 67.9 kilometers of concrete road composed of 11 bridges, drainages, and slope protection components in Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Norte.

One of the DPWH’s projects is the P1.32-billion Alicia-Malangas Road that will feature 23.73 kilometers of concrete road, eight bridges, and slope protection along the mountainous section and areas that are prone to flooding.

In Zamboanga Sibugay, the 29.10-kilometer Lutiman-Guicam-Olutanga Road to cost P989.16 million will be constructed with improved drainage, road signs, and pavement markings.

Meanwhile, the P623.26-million Tampilisan-Sandayong Road in Zamboanga del Norte, that covers 15.07 kilometers of concrete road, will have three bridge components, slope protection, and drainage as well.

The completion of the road projects is expected by 2021, according to Villar.
